November 5th, 2025

In a major boost to rural infrastructure and access to clean water, West African Ceramics Limited (WACL), makers of the ROYAL brand of vitrified, ceramic and porcelain tiles, has commissioned a 30,000-litre overhead water facility for the Oguro community in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State. for years, residents of Oguro relied on the River Niger as their main source of water, a situation that exposed them to waterborne diseases and the daily hardship of fetching unsafe water.

The newly commissioned facility, completed and handed over on October 29, 2025, is equipped with treatment and purification systems connected to the river, ensuring a reliable and safe water supply all year round.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Mr. Franklin Jose, Managing Director of West African Ceramics Limited, said the project was part of the company’s ongoing commitment to community development and sustainable impact.

“At ROYAL, we measure success not only by the quality of our products but by the difference we make in people’s lives,” Mr. Jose stated.

“The Oguro Water Project reflects our commitment to building a sustainable future where businesses and communities grow together.”

Mr. Jose noted that WACL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes focus on community welfare, education, environmental sustainability, and empowerment, adding that the company believes true progress flows from compassion and shared growth.
